On August 6, 2020, at 9:30 a.m., or as soon thereafter as practicable, the City Council for the City of Tampa, Florida, shall conduct a public hearing in the Tampa Convention Center, Channel Entrance, 333 S. Franklin Street, Rooms 14-17, Tampa, FL 33602 to consider the adoption of a non-ad valorem assessment roll for a 2020 (FY2021) non-ad valorem assessment within the Westshore Business District of the City of Tampa, the boundaries of which are identified on the map included below. The purpose of the assessment is to pay for transportation improvements, marketing, and security services for the Westshore Business District of the City of Tampa.

The assessment will be collected by the tax collector as part of real property owner’s ad-valorem tax bills.Failure to pay the assessment will cause a tax certificate to be issued against the property, which may result in a loss of title.

All affected property owners may appear at the public hearing above or file written objections with the City Council within twenty (20) days of this published notice. Please include your name and parcel number on all correspondence and address as follows: Revenue and Finance, Budget Officer, Comments to Non-Ad Valorem Assessments, 306 E. Jackson St., 8th Floor North, Tampa, FL 33602.  If any person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Council with respect to any matter considered at the public hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record is made, including the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be made.
