Join us for lunch with Hillsborough Planning Commission Executive Director Melissa Zornitta and Tampa City Planning Director Stephen Benson for a panel presentation about the future of growth and development in Tampa and Westshore. The Planning Commission and the City of Tampa will be updating the City’s Comprehensive Plan in 2022, including possible changes in Westshore.

Melissa Zornitta has served as the Hillsborough Planning Commission Executive Director since 2015. Melissa leads the agency staff in the development, update, and administration of the Comprehensive Plans for Tampa, Temple Terrace, Plant City, and Unincorporated Hillsborough County. 

Stephen Benson was named the Tampa City Planning Director in 2021. In this role, Benson leads the City’s comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to guiding growth, land use development, and redevelopment, and advance citywide planning initiatives that support the Transforming Tampa’s Tomorrow (T3) strategic plan.
